"The Boomerang bike unit is awesome. The unit stays charged at least for days. I am tech challenged, but had no issue installing and using app which has stupidly and mercifully simple interface." – Darren S. on Google Play

mounted but not armed and tested yet

I mounted this to the back of my recumbent trike seat. Seems to be holding a charge ok. I haven't armed it yet to test the alarm loudness or how sensitive the alarm is--but I will do that before I leave for the Recumbent Rally in Oregon, where I'll be staying at a couple of RV parks for days

Yeah item doesn’t work as advertised

Sometimes the alarm goes off numerous times while you’re riding and you can’t seem to shut it off sometimes it tells me I am in a different location when I go to search for the bike by several blocks sometimes the trip meter goes off automatically even when I’m not using the bike the battery drains 20% in one day not as good as I expected it to be a little disappointed

    Not worth the price.

The concept is great but it's not worth the money being charged. The issues I have are as follows.
    1. The audible alarm is barely audible. It's definitely not loud enough to deter any seasoned bike thief, nor raise the attention of anyone that is further than ten feet away.
    2. After a month of use the alarm is not disarming at all. So my entire ride home the alarm and message notifications are going of every minute. Literally.
    3. The dust cover for the charging port is flimsy at best and if I'm got in a steady rainfall water will enter the charging port.

For the price I paid for the unit and the annual fee for the GPS tracking service I expect better quality from the device AND the application. The only reason I gave a three star rating was for the GPS tracking ability in the event my bicycle gets stolen. Which is also the only reason I don't throw it away. But I won't recommend it to anyone else.

    Good Device but has flaws

I ordered a Boomerang CycloTrac V2, after comparing it with other trackers on the market. I was very impressed with the features it offered, particularly the local alarm & remote notification functions. Having had an opportunity to "get to know it", I can say that the alarm is very sensitive & does the job it claims. The slightest disturbance causes the device to emit a loud alarm and notify me to by text on my phone, and that was the main reason for buying it. I can see situations where the slightest accidental disturbance is going to cause the device to alarm, so I will be careful where I use it. Fine if it's parked nearby, less so if it's half a mile away! The device is easily installed on the water bottle holder mounts, or similar on the bike. I installed and set up the app without problems and the interface is easy to use. my negative feedback is as follows: The device/app will track your journey, but in my experience, if you stop for log enough for it to go into "sleep mode", then it considers that the end of that trip and will restart another one when it is woken up. Boomerang are recommending that users download the Bluetooth app "Bluefruit Connect" to add additional controls (not yet available on their own app). For example, this allows you to alter the alarm delay time from the default 20 seconds. My experience is that this third party App would not "see" the device and hence renders itself useless. I can only hope that these features are added to the main Boomerang app soon. One other point of feedback. Boomerang claim the battery can last for months in sleep mode. I found that it loses most of the charge over about a week. Charging is straight forward, however, if your device is mounted on your bike, you have to get electric power to point where your bike is to be charged, (which may mean an extension cable). Alternatively, you can remove the device and charge it wherever, not something I want to be doing. Overall, I'm happy with Boomerang CycloTrac V2, and hope to see the app improvements added in time. I've submitted separate feedback for the clamp.

    major issues with device

i was really hopeful for this device to work but unfortunately it has many issues. the connectivity is a huge problem and other glitches that make it virtually unusable. the alarm goes off by itself even if i turn it off, it’s very embarrassing in public when the alarm won’t stop blaring. the tracking turns on by itself and drains the battery life. i will be requesting a refund unfortunately because the device simply doesn’t work as advertised.
