App available in Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.
"The Boomerang bike unit is awesome. The unit stays charged at least for days. I am tech challenged, but had no issue installing and using app which has stupidly and mercifully simple interface." – Darren S. on Google Play
Nearly impossible to turn the alarm off. 23 Text messages while my son was riding home from nearby. Alarm constantly going off. The only way to disarm it was to fully reset it. Tracking may be useful if it works, but that doesn’t work either. Bike still showing at the location my son left from even though it’s now home. This is not the first time I have noticed this with the tracker. It is also not the first time we have had an issue disarming it. There is no issue with cell coverage here. Worst $150 I have ever spent
So far so good. Sometimes the connection is a little slow to deactivate the alarm before it goes off.Seen someone interested in my bike till they noticed the unit. GPS log seams to accurately log stop points but the travel lines cut corners off of roads and trails. I would really like to see a simple app for the Samsung galaxy watch 4 series. I would prefer to leave my phone at home and be able to just have a simple alarm on-off for the watch. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. Hopefully, I wont have to see how things turn out if the bike does get stolen. It helps as a deturent, and should help give police a reason to get involved and to go after it if they can see where it went/is.. Maybe in a future version it will also have a camera that takes shots every 5 minutes or so if the alarm goes off and send pictures to the app to be able to give an identity shot to police of the thief as well.
I really like the advanced technology the Boomerang offers. I search for a week, online, before choosing their gps. My ebike costs over 12,000 and I really wanted something I know could protect my investment.
Customer service is very responsive and helpful. The jury is still out on the device and program. It's not very intuitive to use and the fact it doesn't wake up to connect with the app right away has been bothersome. Additionally, the app is not reliably reporting battery levels, and only recording the first half of each bike ride via the GPS function. I wasn't made aware I might have to use this other third-party app 'BlueFruit' before purchasing and I'm reluctant to install another app. I'm concerned about the overall reliability of the system and trusting my bike with it. Overall it still feels like a very beta-testing-stage device, app, and business, which is not how it seemed to be advertised, so I would just advise any other buyers to be prepared to feel like a beta-tester (i.e., you're not buying something that is long-established, polished, and relatively hiccup-free). Going by the updates I've seen so far and the helpfulness of the customer service team though, I do feel assured it's something they are actively working to improve. I think it's a good idea with a lot of potential and if it's something you're game to work with to help improve security options available to yourself and fellow cyclists, I'd imagine the more people who try it the better.
It seems to take a long time to turn off the alarm. And you always need to ‘wake’ the device. By the time I get the alarm off, I lost 30 minutes of ride time.
