"The Boomerang bike unit is awesome. The unit stays charged at least for days. I am tech challenged, but had no issue installing and using app which has stupidly and mercifully simple interface." – Darren S. on Google Play

    Works but needs improvement

It is far from instant to arm and disarm the alarm. It is randomly infrequently beeping while I'm riding and it is unarmed. Charging tracker with my power bank never gets the LED to turn from red to green (but i can tell with an amp meter charging has ceased). The app never displays the correct status of whether alarm is armed or not (always 'inactive' is displayed). (But i can tell from the device LED the alarm has been activated}. Battery seems to drain relatively quickly and I doubt it could last more than two weeks in the armed state (maybe it will sleep if unarmed? Maybe it drains faster if bike is ridden so could last 3-4 months (from the faq) if armed but not disturbed. . . Seems unlikely. One of my bikes has not been ridden, battery was fully charged (but no green LED achieved) less than two weeks ago and the alarm is active (though the app says it is not) and the app reports 25% battery remaining. So I don't see it lasting 3-4 months. 3 weeks is more likely. True, an occasional gust of wind against the bike cover causes tampering alerts to be sent (i have a video camera on it so i can check). Another issue is text alerts do not include name of bicycle so if you have multiple trackers you will be unsure which one went off. There has also at times been a 15 second lag between moving the bicycle and any alarm triggering or alert being sent. And sometimes the texts come through but the app notifications (which *do* specify bicycle name) do not. On the plus side, the tracking of the bicycle works great. So there's still a lot to improve about the boomerang tracker. Also I'm pretty sure if anyone had one of those rechargeable reciprocating saws they could cut the boomerang right off. But that is not most thieves. Customer service has been helpful and responsive. My biggest concerns at present: how can i get the 4-months battery life on a parked bicycle? How can i turn off the random beeping while riding? And how long until the app can quickly activate and deactivate the tracker and display correct activation status?

    They do not work well

They work.... but barely. App is very basic and doesn’t do MANY of the things that it advertised it could. It said I would be able to adjust the sensitivity of the alarm, make a geofence, and see and do other things in the app. The only thing you can do is “find bike”, and arm/disarm alarm- and that takes a while to do- usually have to press arm 20-30 times and stay on the page for a minimum of 3 minutes for it to stay armed/ actually arm the device. I guess I’ll keep them but I’d rather just pay $10 for something that looks like it as a deterrent rather than $100+ for something that doesn’t do gps/ work well.

Unreliable. Most of the times it wouldn’t text me. Sent it back. Hope I get refund.

I bought the 2-pack to protect my kids bikes. We just replaced them as their brand new old bikes were stolen from our garage. Only a real scum bag who would steal a kids bike. Unfortunately, it seems that you can’t have two units connected to the same email, which is a bit of an inconvenience. I will use an unmonitored email for the second bike I guess. I wish multiple bikes could share the same account. That would be better in my situation.
